It also changed the designation of two local criminal groups to terrorist groups. Both significant moves came after Sen. Bolsonaro visited the White House and the Department of State, highlighting the direct link between foreign political figures and policies impacting Brazil.
Argentina’s President Javier Milei traveled to Sao Paulo just days ago, on July 25, to speak at Bolsonaro’s Liberal Party convention. His appearance sparked a diplomatic crisis when he publicly insulted President Lula and the Supreme Court justice who oversaw the elder Bolsonaro’s trial and conviction.
