Hengrui to Present 64 Cancer Studies at ESMO 2026

Hengrui Pharma will present 64 research findings at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress in Madrid from October 23 to 27. The programme includes interim analyses of a phase 3 trial of ruzaltatug rezetecan in EGFR-mutated advanced non-small-cell lung cancer. The company’s announcement concerns oncology research; it contains no information about migration, asylum or border policy.

Lung cancer trial takes centre stage

The interim analyses come from HERON-Lung01, which compares ruzaltatug rezetecan with platinum-based chemotherapy in patients whose EGFR-mutated advanced non-small-cell lung cancer progressed after EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor treatment. Professor Yi-Long Wu of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital leads the trial.

The presentation, abstract LBA72, is scheduled for October 26. Chongrui Xu of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital is listed as presenter for Proffered paper 2: NSCLC, metastatic, at Alicante Auditorium, Hall 6. The listed presentation time is 09:24–09:34 local time.

In July 2026, China's National Medical Products Administration accepted a marketing application for ruzaltatug rezetecan for review. The application covers adults with EGFR-mutated locally advanced or metastatic non-squamous NSCLC whose disease progressed following EGFR-TKI therapy. A Phase III trial is also underway in China, evaluating the drug with an EGFR TKI as first-line treatment for patients with EGFR-mutated locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted it Fast Track designation for patients with EGFR-mutated metastatic NSCLC whose disease progressed after treatment with a third-generation EGFR-TKI and platinum-based chemotherapy.

Other presentations and research areas

Hengrui’s 64 findings include three Proffered Paper presentations, three Rapid Oral presentations, 32 posters and 26 e-posters. They cover more than ten cancer areas and oncology supportive care. Two independently developed antibody-drug conjugates selected for Proffered Paper presentations are HER2-targeted trastuzumab rezetecan and HER3-targeted ruzaltatug rezetecan.

The trastuzumab rezetecan presentation concerns HORIZON-Breast06, a randomized phase 3 study in HER2-low advanced breast cancer. Academician Binghe Xu of the Cancer Hospital at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences leads the study. Ying Fan of the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, is listed to present abstract LBA13 on October 23 at Alicante Auditorium, Hall 6.

Other scheduled research includes preliminary results from a phase 2 study of HRS-4642 plus chemotherapy, with or without adebrelimab, as perioperative therapy for KRAS G12D-mutant pancreatic cancer. The presentation is listed for October 26. Abstract 3530O covers the phase 3 UNION trial of neoadjuvant short-course radiotherapy followed by camrelizumab and chemotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer. A phase 2 study of SHR-A2102 in recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer is also on the programme.

Company’s stated plans

Hengrui said it has participated in the congress for 11 consecutive years since 2016 and had 119 research findings accepted between 2023 and 2025. It will host an exhibition booth for the second consecutive year, after its first booth in 2025.

Jo Feng, President and COO of Hengrui Pharma, said the company would share its latest advances in drug development and clinical evidence. Hengrui describes itself as a pharmaceutical company focused on research, development and commercialization of medicines. As of June 2026, the company said, 14 independently developed Class 1 innovative medicines had been launched in China.
