Houthi Attack Sparks Fire at Aramco Building in Riyadh

On October 14, a Houthi attack caused a fire at an Aramco building in Riyadh, while interceptions of Houthi missiles injured four people elsewhere in the Saudi capital, according to The National’s update. No one was reported injured at the facility. The reports place the attacks amid US threats against the Houthis and heightened regional tensions involving Iran.

Attacks and Interceptions

The Jerusalem Post’s live updates reported explosions in Riyadh and at Aramco headquarters as the Saudi-led coalition intercepted Houthi attacks. The National reported that four people were injured in Riyadh after Houthi missiles were intercepted. It also said the attack caused a fire at an Aramco building, but no one at the facility was injured.

Saudi Civil Defense issued an early warning for the eastern province on Tuesday, then sent another warning for Riyadh shortly after the interceptions, according to The Jerusalem Post’s updates. The reports described warnings and interceptions in the context of Houthi attacks. They didn’t report injuries at the Aramco building itself.

The National also reported that the Saudi-led coalition said it had struck fuel sites to neutralise Houthi war capabilities. The updates offered no further details about the sites or the coalition’s operation. A separate photograph caption on The Jerusalem Post’s page described flames at an Aramco facility south of Riyadh on October 3, 2026. That caption gives a date and location for the photograph; it doesn’t establish that the image shows the October 14 attack.

US Threats and Regional Tensions

US President Donald Trump said the Houthis were “behaving very badly” and accused them of striking Saudi Arabia to drive up oil prices. The National’s update also reported that Trump threatened the Houthis over their attacks on Saudi Arabia.

Trump said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would “do as I ask” regarding a possible Turkish role against the Houthis. The National reported that Erdogan told the Saudi Crown Prince the Houthi challenge would be overcome. The reports described a possible Turkish role, but didn’t say Turkey had joined military action.

Trump also said the United States would decide on Iran “very soon.” In another update, he threatened to hit Iran hard as Iranian officials revealed new tactics targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz, aimed at keeping oil prices high ahead of US midterm elections. The reports connect the statements to regional tensions and oil prices, but provide no further details about the tactics or any resulting action.

Iran and Possible Strikes

The Jerusalem Post’s page carried a headline saying Netanyahu and Trump had discussed the possibility of renewing strikes against Iran before elections. Its accompanying text said senior US officials told Axios that Netanyahu cited alleged Iranian efforts to rebuild nuclear capacity as the reason for launching new strikes. The reports presented that effort as Netanyahu’s stated rationale, not as an independently verified finding.

The updates describe several separate security developments: Houthi attacks and missile interceptions in Saudi Arabia, coalition strikes on fuel sites it said were intended to neutralise Houthi war capabilities, and US statements concerning the Houthis and Iran. They also report diplomatic contact between Erdogan and the Saudi Crown Prince, along with discussions between Netanyahu and Trump about possible renewed strikes against Iran. No injuries were reported at the Aramco facility. Four people were injured in Riyadh after missiles were intercepted.
