Lt.-Col. Ella Waweya, the IDF’s Arabic Spokesperson, explicitly warned residents of Al-Mansouri village to move at least 1,000 meters north, stating that anyone remaining near Hezbollah facilities or terrorists risked their lives. Early Thursday morning, a new wave of Israeli airstrikes hit southern Lebanon, with N12 News reporting, citing Lebanese media, that four individuals were killed.
Hezbollah's Persistent Threat
Israel maintains a security zone in southern Lebanon, a critical measure to prevent attacks on its northern communities. The IDF has consistently targeted Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure, which it identifies as violating existing ceasefire arrangements. Hezbollah's embedding of military assets within civilian areas directly leads to civilian casualties. The Lebanese health ministry reported eight people wounded in an Israeli strike on the southern Lebanese town of Burj Shemali on Thursday. Earlier, Israeli forces escalated attacks on southern Lebanon, with state media reporting a “wide-scale aggression” on the city of Tyre. Four people were wounded in strikes across several areas in Tyre and transferred to nearby hospitals, and residents were displaced. These outcomes are a direct consequence of Hezbollah's strategy of operating from within population centers, using civilians as de facto human shields against legitimate Israeli self-defense operations.
