
Jeen Technologies, a Tel Aviv-based AI company that didn't exist as an independent entity 18 months ago, has secured NIS 8.6 million in recent defense contracts and now operates across Israel's intelligence and military agencies, embedding generative AI systems into the infrastructure of a state at war. The company's defense subsidiary has received two orders totaling that amount from a single strategic customer in three months, part of a framework agreement signed in March valued at up to NIS 45 million over two years.
What began as a civilian robotics spinoff has become a core supplier to Israel's defense establishment during a period of unprecedented military mobilization. CEO Oded Tahori said the shift caught him off guard. "I didn't think what we were developing was meant for defense," he said. "But they came to us, saw the platform, and now we're embedded across the defense agencies." The company now employs nearly 140 people, has raised $25 million, and operates offices in Singapore, London and New York, with Israel serving as its R&D hub.
From Robotics to National Security
Jeen.ai's platform allows large organizations to deploy generative AI systems that operate entirely offline, a capability Tahori described as essential for intelligence bodies that can't rely on cloud-based services like OpenAI. "Defense bodies in Israel understand that there is a company that can deliver AI without the internet," he said. "They cannot work with OpenAI or global cloud systems, especially when it comes to intelligence." The technology is already being used by major Israeli defense contractors, with thousands of active users across the system.
The company's defense division is led by Nir Mitchell, a former combat officer in the IAF's elite Shaldag unit and a senior official in the Prime Minister's Office. Jeen's team includes former senior figures from Israel's intelligence community: a former R&D manager of the Mossad, the Mossad's former head of research, and a former data manager at the Shin Bet. That roster reflects the company's integration into what Tahori called Israel's emerging national AI strategy — sovereign systems built for a state that views technological independence as a security imperative.
AI for Intelligence, Operations, and Exhausted Commanders
Over the past year, Jeen has begun working with all major defense agencies in Israel, providing AI tools for intelligence analysis, operational planning, and administrative workflows. Tahori described use cases that span the cognitive demands of prolonged conflict: "For intelligence, for operations, for commanders who need cognitive support when they're exhausted. Systems don't feel stressed." He said the company is shaping how defense agencies work with AI at scale, positioning Jeen as Israel's answer to Palantir — a sovereign platform designed to support intelligence, operations, and decision-making without dependence on foreign infrastructure.
"We're already showing Jeen as part of Israel's defense capability in generative AI," Tahori said. "You cannot depend on global organizations. The tech needs to work without the cloud — efficiently, and independently." He added that Jeen will become "a core system for operational and administrative needs," connecting defense agencies to generative AI in a secure, sovereign framework.
Dual-Use Expansion
Jeen remains a dual-use company. Its civilian clients include Bank Mizrahi, the Israel Electric Corporation, and Maccabi Healthcare Services. But as Israel's security establishment accelerates adoption of AI across intelligence, operations, and command-level decision-making, what defense agencies sought out themselves has become a key supplier of critical infrastructure. The company is listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
