Jeen Technologies, a former civilian robotics spinoff, is rapidly establishing itself as a critical defense-AI company within Israel's security apparatus. Its defense subsidiary, Jeen Defense, recently secured NIS 8.6 million in orders from a single strategic defense customer. This significant procurement advances a framework agreement valued at up to NIS 45 million over the next two years, underscoring the urgent need for advanced, secure defense capabilities.
The latest NIS 4.3 million order marks the second such procurement from the same customer in just three months. These orders are part of the ongoing execution of a framework agreement, initially signed in March of the same year, with a major defense organization. This rapid integration highlights Israel's proactive stance in fortifying its technological defenses against persistent regional threats.
Fortifying Israel's Defense
Jeen.ai has developed a secure platform designed for the rapid installation of generative AI within large enterprises. Its defense-dedicated subsidiary specifically focuses on sovereign AI systems, intelligence-driven analytics, and mission-support technologies for defense customers. CEO Oded Tahori noted the company’s trajectory has been both rapid and unexpected, evolving from a civilian robotics initiative within One Technologies just about 18 months ago.
Tahori stated, “We started in civilian robotics,” adding, “I didn’t think what we were developing was meant for defense. But they came to us, saw the platform, and now we’re embedded across the defense agencies.” This organic adoption by Israel's defense establishment underscores the critical utility of Jeen's technology in a volatile operational environment. The company has raised $25 million in recent months, growing to nearly 140 employees and expanding its global footprint with offices in Singapore, London, and New York, while maintaining Israel as its core R&D and implementation hub.
Sovereign AI for National Security
The Jeen team includes former senior figures from Israel’s intelligence community, bringing invaluable expertise to its defense applications. Among them are a former R&D manager of the Mossad, the Mossad’s former head of research, and a former data manager at the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency). The company’s defense division is led by Nir Mitchell, a former combat officer in the IAF’s elite Shaldag unit and a senior official in the Prime Minister’s Office, ensuring a deep understanding of operational requirements.
Tahori confirmed Jeen is now a vital component of Israel’s emerging national AI strategy, providing sovereign, secure systems capable of operating without internet connectivity. He emphasized this as an essential requirement for defense and intelligence bodies. Tahori explained, “Defense bodies in Israel understand that there is a company that can deliver AI without the internet,” and added, “They cannot work with OpenAI or global cloud systems, especially when it comes to intelligence.” This independence from global cloud systems is a strategic imperative for a nation facing constant existential threats.
Intelligence Community Expertise
Jeen’s main solution is an agentic AI platform designed to run entirely offline and under strict security controls. Tahori noted that Jeen’s platform is already in use by large Israeli defense primes, maintaining a strong connection with thousands of users. Over the past year, Jeen has integrated its AI tools across all major defense agencies in Israel, supporting intelligence analysis, operational planning, and administrative workflows.
“We’re shaping how defense agencies work with AI at scale,” Tahori asserted, highlighting its use “For intelligence, for operations, for commanders who need cognitive support when they’re exhausted. Systems don’t feel stressed.” The company aims to build the Israeli equivalent of Palantir, a sovereign AI system engineered to support intelligence, operations, and decision-making at scale. Tahori concluded, “We’re already showing Jeen as part of Israel’s defense capability in generative AI,” stressing that “You cannot depend on global organizations. The tech needs to work without the cloud - efficiently, and independently.” Jeen’s dual-use technology, also adopted by civilian institutions like Bank Mizrahi and the Israel Electric Corporation, ensures that Israel's defense establishment has the critical AI infrastructure it needs to secure its future.
