UNGA Summit Fuels Africa's 'Smart City' Transformation

Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC) secured over USD 4.3 billion in investment commitments this month, finalized during side events at the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. The commitments, made by investors and government officials, aim to expand MMTC’s 'smart-city model' across the African continent.

This ambitious plan envisions 18 'sustainable smart cities' spanning 12 African countries by 2050, a mere 24 years away. The model integrates healthcare, technology, manufacturing, housing, education, and other essential services into a comprehensive, centrally planned framework.

The Globalist Blueprint

MMTC Founder Julius Mwale stated that the response from investors and African government representatives shows growing interest in what he termed 'African-led development models.' These models, he claims, combine technology with social and economic transformation, echoing language often heard from supranational bodies.

Mwale articulated a vision for Africa to build cities that are 'not only technologically advanced, but also sustainable, inclusive and designed around the needs of communities.' Such rhetoric often precedes the displacement of traditional community structures by managed, technocratic environments.

The investments, Mwale said, will accelerate the expansion of the MMTC model beyond Kenya, creating 'platforms for communities to benefit' from new technologies and economic opportunities. He emphasized that the USD 4.3 billion reflects 'confidence in the potential of African communities,' promising jobs, better healthcare, and stronger local economies.

The company also discussed artificial intelligence (AI) and green-powered data centers, with Mwale asserting Africa must be an 'active participant' in shaping AI's future. He stated that AI is changing economies and Africa 'must be part of that transformation,' ensuring technology 'solves real problems' and 'creates opportunities for our people.' This positions Africa within a global digital control grid.

Elite Networks and Capital

The UNGA side events served as a crucial gathering point for this transnational agenda. They brought together investors, policymakers, technology leaders, healthcare stakeholders, and members of the African diaspora.

Mwale highlighted the African diaspora's role, noting their 'capital, expertise and global networks' as tools to accelerate development at home. This demonstrates the coordinated effort of a globalized elite to direct capital and influence.

MMTC's existing USD2 billion 'sustainable smart-city development' in Butere, Kakamega County, serves as the blueprint. This project already integrates healthcare, technology, education, housing, manufacturing, and agriculture, designed around technology and infrastructure to create jobs and opportunities for 'surrounding communities.' The expansion of this model represents a systematic transformation of traditional life across a continent.
