Nashville October Concerts Open at 4,400-Seat Venue

The Truth, a 4,400-seat Live Nation venue in Nashville’s Wedgewood Houston, opens its first month of shows with a schedule that also includes performances at Bridgestone Arena, the Ryman and the Grand Ole Opry. Its first show is Thursday, the day after this preview’s publication, and Miranda Lambert is set to perform there on Oct. 1.

The Truth Opens Its Doors

Lambert’s Oct. 1 performance is a one-night-only celebration of her new album, “Crisco,” which drops Friday. A 12-piece string section will join the performance. The Truth’s opening-month program also features Sting and Jack White, along with a 20th anniversary performance by The Chicks.

The Chicks play The Truth on Oct. 15. They’ll perform the entire album “Taking the Long Way,” then close with hits from the rest of their catalog. The album swept the Grammys in 2007. The show is billed as a 20th anniversary performance for the album.

The new venue’s schedule puts The Chicks’ Oct. 15 performance on the same dates as the opening stretch of Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit’s Ryman residency. The group will play six shows, scheduled for Oct. 15–17 and Oct. 22–24. Each night has a different opening act.

Arena, Ryman and Riverfront Shows

Phoebe Bridgers is scheduled to play Bridgestone Arena on Oct. 10 and 11. Both nights have sold out. Fans will be asked to lock their devices inside Yondr pouches during the phone-free shows.

Live on the Green will host its “Lawnwarming Party” at Ascend Amphitheater on Oct. 18. The event previews a new riverfront home for the series. Guster and Grace Potter are set to headline; the full series returns next year.

The schedule spans The Truth’s first month and established Nashville performance spaces. The Truth is the 4,400-seat Live Nation venue in Wedgewood Houston, while Bridgers’ two sold-out dates land at Bridgestone Arena. Isbell and the 400 Unit will play six dates at the Ryman, and organizers booked the Live on the Green preview at Ascend Amphitheater.

Grand Ole Opry Debut

Sam Smith, a five-time Grammy winner, is scheduled to perform at the Grand Ole Opry on Oct. 21. The show will mark their Opry debut. Nashville soul singer Maggie Rose is also on the bill.

The October calendar starts with Lambert’s Oct. 1 performance at The Truth, then moves through Bridgers’ sold-out arena dates, The Chicks’ anniversary show and the Ryman residency. Live on the Green’s preview follows on Oct. 18, before Smith’s scheduled Grand Ole Opry appearance on Oct. 21. Sting and Jack White are also among the acts in The Truth’s opening-month lineup.
