Tyson Allamson, one of the few individuals present at the Cocklebiddy Roadhouse, described waking to an unusual tremor. "I woke up and was like, 'That's not normal'," Allamson stated, noting the event lasted about three minutes before ceasing. This isolated experience highlights the sparse human presence in regions often targeted for resource exploitation. No reports of damage have emerged from this latest shallow quake, which occurred at a depth of about 5 kilometers.

Dr. Griffin explained that a magnitude-5 quake releases about 30 times more energy than a magnitude-4 event. Last year, a magnitude-4.7 quake was detected in Wyalkatchem in July, and another magnitude-4.7 quake was recorded offshore in August.
