Six Flags Expands Access With Early Season Passes

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation launched sales of its 2027 Season Passes on Aug. 7, 2026, offering immediate access to parks for the remainder of this year — a pricing structure that extends entertainment options to families during high-cost seasonal periods. The company partnered with brand ambassador Travis Kelce to promote the limited-time offer, which runs through Sept. 7 and allows guests who purchase Gold or Prestige Passes to use them immediately for Halloween and holiday events.

Expanding Access Through Pricing

The Gold Pass provides unlimited visits through 2026 and all of 2027, free general parking with some restrictions, and admission to parks throughout designated regions including East, West, Midwest or Texas. It also includes access to fall haunt events and seasonal holiday celebrations, discounts on select food, merchandise and tickets, and one bonus Bring-A-Friend Free ticket for those who purchase by Sept. 7. The Prestige Pass expands access to all Six Flags parks across North America, with preferred parking at many parks, complimentary fountain beverages, VIP entrance access at participating parks, free Bring-A-Friend tickets, one free single-use Fast Lane per visit and a $20 in-park credit for new members who renew by Sept. 7.

Kelce emphasized the value proposition for families. "The Six Flags Season Pass has so much to offer," he said. "Unlimited visits would have blown my mind as a kid, and right before Halloween and the holidays when you know the parks go crazy. You get more access this year and everything that's coming in 2027." He added, "More time at the parks now means more awesome memories later. More rides. More laughs. More reasons to get your crew together. That's exactly what a Six Flags Season Pass delivers."

New Membership Model

Six Flags also launched 2027 Memberships, which offer many of the same benefits as Season Passes with recurring monthly payments. The memberships provide unlimited visits, access to multiple parks based on membership level, parking benefits, discounts on food and merchandise, exclusive member rewards and special offers throughout the year. Premium membership tiers add expanded park access, VIP benefits and enhanced in-park savings. This payment structure allows families to spread costs over time rather than absorbing a single upfront expense.

Major Infrastructure Investment

The company announced what it called one of its most ambitious attraction lineups ever for 2027. In the East region, Six Flags Great Adventure will unveil Bakunawa, which the company called the world's tallest and fastest spinning coaster. The attraction, inspired by the legendary moon-eating serpent of Philippine mythology, will soar 382 feet, reach 100 mph and break six world records. Bakunawa anchors the newly renovated Boardwalk section, which celebrates the culture of the Jersey Shore. Carowinds will introduce Rip Roarin' Falls, a super-flume experience featuring the world's tallest water ride drop at 100 feet and multiple world-record-breaking elements.

In the Texas region, Six Flags Fiesta Texas will debut Werewolf Gorge, which the company called the world's longest family launch coaster. In the Midwest region, Six Flags Great America will open Camp Timber Trail, an expansive family adventure area anchored by Sky Hawk, which Six Flags called the Midwest's longest, tallest and fastest suspended family coaster. In the West region, Knott's Soak City will introduce Coral Craze and Kelp Kraze, family raft slides featuring ride systems making their West Coast and North American debuts.

Guests who buy a 2027 Season Pass can also begin using major additions already open in 2026, including Quantum Accelerator at Six Flags New England, Tormenta: Rampaging Run at Six Flags Over Texas, Shoreline Pier at Six Flags Great Adventure, Daredeviler at Canada's Wonderland, Speedway Stunt Coaster at Six Flags Mexico, Looney Tunes™ Land at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Phantom Theater at Kings Island and a major summer entertainment lineup at Kings Dominion.

Seasonal Programming

The company said it will soon unveil its 2026 Halloween lineup, featuring new blockbuster horror franchise experiences, all-new entertainment and other seasonal offerings. Guests can celebrate the holidays with dazzling lights, festive entertainment and family fun at parks from coast to coast, plus the return of a newly reimagined Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Over Georgia.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation operates 21 amusement parks, 14 water parks and nine resort properties across 13 states in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The company also manages an amusement park in Saudi Arabia and owns intellectual property including Looney Tunes®, DC Comics® and PEANUTS®.

Why This Matters:

The early-access pricing model and monthly payment options represent an attempt to broaden access to entertainment during periods when family budgets face seasonal pressure from back-to-school costs and holiday expenses. By allowing immediate use of 2027 passes in late 2026, the company extends value to working families who might otherwise face higher per-visit costs during Halloween and winter holiday periods. The infrastructure investments across regions — particularly family-oriented attractions like Camp Timber Trail and Werewolf Gorge — suggest the company is targeting broader demographics beyond thrill-seekers. Whether the pricing remains accessible after the Sept. 7 deadline will determine how many families can take advantage of the expanded access during high-demand seasonal periods when entertainment costs typically rise.
