Horry County Fire Rescue confirmed that none of the injuries sustained appeared to be life-threatening. The agency reported that, with the assistance of on-scene law enforcement, a total of 19 patients were located and subsequently evaluated for their injuries. Three of these individuals were transported to a hospital, with officials acknowledging the possibility of additional attendees self-transporting to local medical facilities.
The declaration of a mass casualty incident by Horry County Fire Rescue underscored the significant demand placed on emergency response capabilities due to the number of reported injuries. Multiple law enforcement and emergency agencies were already positioned throughout the festival grounds and responded immediately to the unfolding situation, according to town officials. EMS crews provided on-site treatment to injured attendees before the festival was allowed to resume its normal operations.
The Town of Atlantic Beach expressed "sincere concern for anyone who was injured or impacted," adding that "any situation where individuals are harmed is taken seriously, and our thoughts are with those affected as they recover." The annual Memorial Day weekend motorcycle rally is reported by the town to draw crowds in excess of 400,000 individuals to the area. These figures, according to the Town of Atlantic Beach website, can overlap with broader Myrtle Beach-area Memorial Day weekend visitors attending various concerts, parties, and other entertainment events, signifying a massive influx of people into the region.
