The Town named Slipknot and Marilyn Manson as its first acts for 2027, but ticket prices, a sale date and transport plans remain unannounced. The festival’s organizers control the lineup and entry terms; people weighing whether they can afford or reach the event still have little information.
Both acts are scheduled to play the Skyline main stage on Saturday 4 September 2027, opening the five-day festival at the Interlagos motor-racing circuit in São Paulo’s south zone. Organizers announced the booking on 28 September 2026. Tickets aren’t on sale, and organizers haven’t confirmed other performers, how many acts they’ll add or when they’ll reveal further names.
Who Controls the Lineup
The Town runs over two weekends: 4, 5 and 6 September, then 11 and 12 September 2027. The first block ends on 6 September, the day before Brazil’s Independence Day holiday. Slipknot will headline the Skyline stage; Marilyn Manson is booked there that night, too.
Rock World, the company behind The Town and Rock in Rio, arranged Slipknot’s appearance. “Opening The Town announcements with Slipknot as headliner is wonderful,” said Rock World president Roberto Medina. Zé Ricardo, Rock World’s artistic vice-president, said negotiations with the band proved difficult. Jornal de Brasília reported that the talks lasted three months.
Slipknot, a masked heavy-metal band from Iowa in the United States, is scheduled to launch its 2027 world tour, the (sic)est Stadium Tour, at Wembley Stadium in London on 3 July 2027. The South American leg begins in São Paulo, followed by separate dates in Buenos Aires on 8 September, Santiago on 12 September, Lima on 14 September and Bogotá on 16 September. Rock World says the São Paulo festival will be the band’s only Brazil show on the tour and its only festival stop. Brazilian drummer Eloy Casagrande is a former member of Sepultura.
The Price of Getting In
The festival hasn’t announced 2027 ticket prices, its ticket vendor, a sale date or presale details. For comparison, Ticketmaster Brasil sold every ticket in 2025 without a convenience fee, Billboard Brasil reported. A full-price day ticket cost R$ 975, about US$187; a half-price ticket cost R$ 487.50, about US$93.
Meia-entrada is a Brazilian legal discount for students, people aged 60 and over, people with disabilities and some other groups. Staff check proof at the gate. The venue’s location matters, too: Interlagos sits in São Paulo’s south zone, far from Avenida Paulista in the centre. Line 9-Emerald of the CPTM commuter rail network runs near the circuit, but organizers haven’t published 2027 transport plans.
For the 2025 festival, an express train from Pinheiros station cost R$ 35, about US$7, return, and an express bus cost R$ 40, about US$8, return. The walk from the train took about ten minutes. The official site sets a minimum age of 16; younger children must attend with a parent or legal guardian.
A Booking Under Public Scrutiny
Marilyn Manson is the stage name of Brian Warner, an American shock-rock singer. NME reported that he joins Slipknot as a support act on the South American tour dates. Since 2021, several women, including actress Evan Rachel Wood, have accused him of abuse; he has denied the allegations. Los Angeles prosecutors declined to file criminal charges in January 2025, citing insufficient evidence and time limits. Jornal de Brasília reported that the booking renewed criticism of the festival.
Zé Ricardo told O Globo that Manson “has not been convicted” and that the festival “cannot pre-condemn a person without proof”, as Rolling Stone Brasil reported. The Town launched in 2023 as São Paulo’s sister festival to Rock in Rio, which Roberto Medina founded in 1985. Its first two editions drew about 925,000 people in total, Dicas do Tio Du reported. Estimates for 2025 differ: CNN Brasil put attendance at about 425,000, while Rolling Stone Brasil cited around 500,000 and reported R$ 2.2 billion, about US$421 million, in economic activity. The 2027 lineup beyond the first two names, prices, stage plans for other days, set times and transport arrangements remain unannounced.
