Slipknot will headline The Town’s opening night in São Paulo, but ticket prices, sale dates and the rest of the lineup remain unannounced. The festival announced Slipknot and Marilyn Manson as its first 2027 acts on 28 September 2026. Both will play the Skyline main stage on Saturday 4 September at the Interlagos motor-racing circuit.
The booking puts a major touring act at the center of a five-date event run by Rock World, the company behind The Town and Rock in Rio. The festival drew large audiences in its first editions, and reports put economic activity around the 2025 event at R$ 2.2 billion. That figure measures economic activity, not the festival’s profit. The article reports no profit, wage or employment figures.
A commercial draw, with prices still unknown
The Town’s 2027 dates are 4, 5 and 6 September, followed by 11 and 12 September. The first block ends the day before Brazil’s Independence Day holiday on 7 September. Organisers haven’t said how many acts will join the bill or when they’ll announce more names. Ticket prices, the vendor, the sale date and presale details also remain unpublished.
The 2025 ticket figures offer a reference for the cost faced by attendees, but they don’t establish the price of entry in 2027. Ticketmaster Brasil sold all tickets in 2025 without a convenience fee, Billboard Brasil reported. A full-price day ticket cost R$ 975, about US$187, while a half-price ticket cost R$ 487.50, about US$93. The dollar conversions use the exchange rate reported for 28 September 2026.
Brazil’s meia-entrada law provides discounted tickets to students, people aged 60 and over, people with disabilities and some other groups. Attendees must show proof at the gate. The festival sets a minimum age of 16; younger children must attend with a parent or legal guardian. Those are the stated conditions of access. The festival hasn’t released its 2027 transport plan.
Interlagos sits in São Paulo’s south zone, far from Avenida Paulista in the centre. Line 9-Emerald of the CPTM commuter rail network runs near the circuit. For the 2025 festival, an express train from Pinheiros cost R$ 35 return, and an express bus cost R$ 40 return. The walk from the train took about ten minutes. Those are past fares, not announced prices for 2027.
Tour bookings and disputed allegations
Slipknot’s 2027 world tour is scheduled to open at Wembley Stadium in London on 3 July. São Paulo is the first stop on its South American leg, with separate dates scheduled in Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima and Bogotá. Rock World says The Town will be the band’s only Brazil show on the tour and its only festival stop. “Opening The Town announcements with Slipknot as headliner is wonderful,” said Rock World president Roberto Medina.
Zé Ricardo, Rock World’s artistic vice-president, said negotiations with the band were difficult. Jornal de Brasília reported that they lasted three months. Slipknot drummer Eloy Casagrande is Brazilian and formerly played with Sepultura.
Marilyn Manson, the stage name of Brian Warner, is booked as a support act on South American tour dates, NME reported. Several women, including actress Evan Rachel Wood, have accused him of abuse since 2021; he has denied the allegations. Los Angeles prosecutors declined to file criminal charges in January 2025, citing insufficient evidence and time limits. Jornal de Brasília reported that the booking renewed criticism.
Zé Ricardo told O Globo that Manson “has not been convicted” and that the festival “cannot pre-condemn a person without proof”, as Rolling Stone Brasil reported. The festival’s defense cited the absence of a conviction; the accusations and Manson’s denial remain part of the reported context.
The Town began in 2023 as São Paulo’s sister festival to Rock in Rio, founded by Roberto Medina in 1985. Dicas do Tio Du reported that the first two editions drew about 925,000 people in total. Estimates for 2025 attendance vary: CNN Brasil put the figure at about 425,000, while Rolling Stone Brasil cited around 500,000. The festival takes place every two years. The remaining performers, ticket costs and transport arrangements for 2027 have yet to be announced.
