Türkiye Mobile Subscribers Seen Reaching 105 Million

Türkiye’s mobile subscriber base is projected to reach 105 million in 2027, up from 102.2 million in the second quarter of 2026. The figure appears in program performance data in the 2027 Central Government Budget Bill, which sets out government spending and targets for the coming year.

Budget and Investment Push

The bill says the government continues to work to improve technology and service quality across the information and communications sector. It allocates 32.34 billion lira to the sector’s program next year, a 39 percent increase. The article links steady growth in user numbers to rising investment and the development of the country’s technological infrastructure.

The growth began with a specific event. The rollout of 5G technology this year accelerated subscriber growth, and the government expects that pace to continue. Authorized mobile communication operators are projected to serve 103 million subscribers by the end of 2026, followed by 107 million in 2028 and 109 million in 2029.

Mobile Broadband Targets

The government also aims to extend mobile broadband access across the country. Penetration means the ratio of total mobile internet subscribers served by authorized operators to the population. The government expects that ratio to reach 94 percent in 2026, 96 percent in 2027, 97 percent in 2028 and 98 percent in 2029.

These figures are targets in the budget framework, not results already achieved. They chart steady growth in subscriber numbers and broadband reach over the next three years. Meeting those targets will depend on the investment and infrastructure work the budget is designed to fund.

Why This Matters: The subscriber and broadband projections provide a measurable picture of where Türkiye’s connectivity is expected to stand through 2029. The figures rely on investment levels set out in the budget and on the 5G rollout, which has already begun to lift growth. They’re targets in a government budget bill, so they offer a benchmark for judging future performance. Readers tracking the telecom sector can compare the projected path with reported results in the years ahead.
