CCFM Prices and Controls Access to Maputo Culture

Student tickets for the Bokani Dyer Trio concert cost 300 MT, but the CCFM caps sales at 50 and sells them only at the venue. General admission costs 800 MT; CCFM members pay 700 MT. Those prices show who can access the programme, where one central institution hosts most of the listed events.

One venue, different prices

The concert takes place Friday 30 October at 20:00 in the CCFM Sala Grande. South African pianist Bokani Dyer performs on tour for his Traditions album. The CCFM begins selling physical tickets on 28 October. The guide gives approximate US-dollar equivalents of US$12.65 for general admission, US$11.07 for members and US$4.74 for student tickets, based on the stated exchange rate of 63.25 meticais per US dollar on 20 October 2026.

The CCFM programme also lists an exhibition and two film screenings. “Faces da Modernidade: Obras do Acervo do Millennium bim” opens Thursday 22 October in the exhibition hall. Curator Jorge Dias selected works from the Millennium bim art collection for the exhibition, which runs through Saturday 12 December. The CCFM lists no admission price, opening hours or opening start time. Visitors should check with the venue.

That information gap matters to anyone planning a visit: the institution controls the programme, but essential details for some events remain unlisted. The guide doesn’t give an exhibition price or screening prices. It tells people to confirm details with the CCFM rather than rely on a complete public schedule.

What the programme leaves open

The children’s screening of “Le Secret des Mésanges,” directed by Antoine Lanciaux, is scheduled for Saturday 24 October, from 10:30 to 12:30 in the auditorium. It’s part of the CCFM’s Mês do Cinema de Animação, or Animation Film Month. The guide doesn’t list the screening price or age range.

On Tuesday 27 October, the Cineclube screens “Planètes,” directed by Momoko Seto, in the auditorium from 18:00 to 20:00. That screening is also part of Animation Film Month. The CCFM lists no price for it either.

The programme centres on the Centro Cultural Franco-Moçambicano, at Av. Samora Machel 468 on Avenida Samora Machel, a central Maputo artery. The guide says visitors can pair evening events with dinner nearby. It names no grassroots, self-organized or community-run events and describes no mutual-aid response. The guide offers no legislative or electoral remedy; it’s a cultural schedule, not a report of a campaign for one.

The practical rules

The guide is intended for Maputo residents and people staying for a few weeks. It advises carrying water in warm daytime weather, but says the editors didn’t check forecasts. It also warns that programmes can change at short notice and recommends confirming times with the CCFM. Contact details appear at ccfmoz.com, where the events page is updated through the month.

For the 20:00 concert, the guide recommends taking a trusted taxi or ride-hailing app at night and arranging transport in advance. It says no other events for these dates had been confirmed, and the guide will be extended only with events that can be verified. The source is the CCFM agenda cultural, retrieved on 20 October 2026. A public programme can point people toward culture, but prices, limited tickets and missing details still shape who can plan to enter.
