Valparaíso Arts Calendar Sets Free and Paid Events

The Valparaíso events guide lists 14 events and shows from Oct. 16 to 31, with admission from free to CLP 15,000, about US$15. It brings together free events, ticketed performances and museum exhibitions, with different prices for adults, students, seniors and children.

Who Pays to Attend

PERFORMA, the International Media Arts Festival, opens Friday, Oct. 16, at 20:00 at Mercado Puerto, Cochrane 117. Admission is free with prior registration on Ticketplus. In its sixth edition, the festival presents five immersive audiovisual works that combine art, science and technology. One uses AI to explore political and urban memory; another pairs European baroque with Mapuche instruments.

Camila Moreno performs “La Última Luz” Saturday, Oct. 17, at 20:00 at Teatro Mauri SCD, Avenida Alemania 6985, Cerro Bellavista. Tickets cost CLP 8,000 to 12,000, about US$8 to US$12, and are sold through the venue's ticketing page. Earlier that day, Espacio Lola presents contemporary flamenco at 19:30 in Salón Almirante Montt, Destino Valparaíso, Concepción 499, Cerro Concepción. The guide lists no price for the flamenco performance.

The Museo Baburizza retrospective “Pacheco Altamirano: Redescubrir a un maestro,” presented by the APA Collection and the museum, runs through Sunday, Oct. 25, from 10:00 to 18:00. General admission costs CLP 4,000, about US$4. Students and seniors pay CLP 1,500, about US$1.50, while children under 12 enter free.

“Full y la música de Fulano,” a theatre-and-music performance, is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, at 20:00 at Teatro Mauri SCD. Tickets cost CLP 10,000 to 15,000, about US$10 to US$15. The guide advises checking the venue's ticketing page for details about the format.

Free Listings and Public Venues

Fiesta de la Música Chilena runs Saturday, Oct. 24, from 12:00 in Barrio Puerto. Organizers describe two stages, fairs, activations and family programming at several locations in the district, near the waterfront and accessible on foot. No price is listed. Carrito del Grabado, an interactive engraving workshop led by mediators from the Universidad de Playa Ancha, runs Oct. 24 and 25 from 10:00 to 18:00 at Plaza Central, Destino Valparaíso. The guide lists no price for the workshop, either.

On Thursday, Oct. 22, at 18:00, flautist Felipe Egaña and guest musicians perform “Ciclo de Música de Cámara UAI: flute from the Renaissance to Romanticism” at Salón Concepción, Destino Valparaíso. The performance follows the flute’s history across several centuries and forms part of the chamber music cycle of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. No price is listed.

The XIII Bienal Internacional de Artes de Valparaíso opens Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Museo Baburizza in Cerro Alegre and runs through Dec. 27, from 10:00 to 18:00. It presents the biennial's winning works on the theme of the right to the city. Admission follows the museum tariff.

Concerts, Exhibitions and Regional Events

Expo Quillota 2026 runs Oct. 29 through 31 in Quillota, in the Valparaíso Region outside Valparaíso city. The 26th edition brings together entrepreneurs, artisans, food producers and institutions from the region. The regional tourism corporation of the Valparaíso Region organizes the event. The guide gives no admission price.

Daniel Muñoz leads Daniel Muñoz y Los Marujos: También es Cueca Friday, Oct. 30, at 20:00 at Teatro Mauri SCD. The performance features cueca, Chile's national dance, and repertoire from his 2026 national tour; ticket details are on the venue's ticketing page. On Oct. 31, Sol y Lluvia presents “Antología” at the same theatre from 19:00 to 20:30. Tickets cost CLP 10,000, about US$10. Feria de Anticuarios runs that day from 10:00 to 18:00 at Plaza Central, Destino Valparaíso.

Two other exhibitions span the calendar. “A través del espejo,” featuring 18 acrylic paintings by self-taught Valparaíso artist Ervin Echeverría Iturra, runs through Oct. 31 at Museo de Historia Natural de Valparaíso, Condell 1546. It is open from 11:00 to 16:00. The paintings refer to Valparaíso, Greece, Venice and Japan, and the exhibition opened Sept. 2.

October is spring in Valparaíso, and coastal weather can change. The guide recommends bringing a light layer and preparing for steep streets. Prices appear in Chilean pesos, converted at about 980 pesos to the U.S. dollar using The Rio Times' Oct. 15, 2026, rate. Many listings don't include prices, so the guide advises checking organizers' pages.
