Zain Kuwait won two 5G-Advanced awards at the Telecom Review Excellence Awards in Dubai, where Zain Group operations collected four accolades for networks, digital transformation and international connectivity. The awards put a corporate infrastructure story onstage: companies and industry executives described how networks will serve customers and businesses, while the published account offered no customer or worker testimony.
Awards for the apparatus
Zain Kuwait received Best 5G Advanced Business Innovation and Best 5G Advanced Network Experience. Zain Jordan won Best Digital Transformation Deployment, and Zain Omantel International (ZOI) received Best Subsea Cable Innovations/Solutions. The awards recognized work across Zain Group's operations and investments, including customer experience and regional digital infrastructure.
Zain Kuwait's Chief Technology Officer, Daaij Al-Oud, said the company's network leadership was about more than speed or new technology. "It is about translating these advancements into tangible improvements in how people connect, communicate, work and experience the digital world," he said. He described infrastructure investment, AI-driven innovation and advanced connectivity as ways to support Kuwait's digital ambitions. Those are the company's claims about what its network delivers; the award announcement doesn't provide independent customer assessments or figures on access and cost.
After Zain Kuwait's commercial, nationwide launch of 5G-Advanced in 2025, the company continued work on capacity management, carrier aggregation and AI-powered optimization. Its first successful six-carrier 5G-Advanced verification in Kuwait reached peak speeds of 3 Gbps. The company said the test demonstrated spectrum efficiency, indoor coverage capabilities and uplink performance. A separate regional-first 31 Gbps verification was presented as evidence of potential for business use.
Executives define the future
At the summit, Al-Oud joined senior executives and technology leaders for a panel called "Network Experience: Connectivity Redefined." They discussed rising data consumption, AI workloads and business demand, as well as spectrum efficiency, network optimization and infrastructure investment. Al-Oud said the industry was moving beyond peak speeds toward consistent performance and adaptive networks.
Zain Bahrain's Network Director, Amar Buali, took part in a panel on digital resilience. The discussion covered digital risks, infrastructure vulnerabilities and a shift from reactive recovery to proactive resilience. The summit brought together executives, technology leaders, regulators and innovators. The account records their discussion of reliable and sustainable connectivity, but no statements from the communities expected to rely on those systems.
Connectivity across borders
ZOI and Zain Kuwait demonstrated international connectivity in 2025 by enabling a remote robotic surgery between Kuwait and Brazil, spanning over 12,000 km. ZOI supplied the ultra-low-latency connection. Zain Jordan's award, meanwhile, recognized its stated work to modernize digital capabilities, streamline operations and improve customer services.
The awards celebrate corporate plans and technical milestones, from 3 Gbps tests to subsea links. They also show who gets the microphone at an industry summit: company executives presenting their own infrastructure as the foundation of a more connected economy. The article offers no account of how customers evaluate those services, or whose needs shape the investment decisions.
