Israeli commandos captured an alleged Palestinian arms dealer in Jenin on Thursday morning, the military said. It described him as a key supplier to a former terror network in the area. Duvdevan Commando Unit troops carried out the raid using intelligence from the Shin Bet. The military said the man procured and transferred weapons for the network.
Weapons Network in Jenin
The Palestinian man wasn’t named. The military described him as a member of a former terror network operating in the area, with a role in procuring and transferring weapons. “The terrorist served as a key weapons dealer and acted to procure and transfer weapons to the terror network,” the IDF said.
According to the military, Shin Bet intelligence prompted the raid, and Duvdevan Commando Unit troops detained the alleged arms dealer. The military didn’t identify the weapons, say where they were intended to be used, or provide further details about the network.
The account places the alleged weapons activity within a broader rise in West Bank violence since the Hamas attack on Israel triggered the Gaza war in October 2023. The IDF says the vast majority of Palestinians killed in the West Bank during that period were gunmen killed in exchanges of fire, rioters who clashed with troops, or terrorists carrying out attacks.
Road Incident Near Ateret
A separate incident near the West Bank settlement of Ateret on Thursday night left an Israeli civilian lightly injured. Israeli security officials assessed it as a hit-and-run, not a terror attack.
An IDF preliminary investigation found that settlers from an illegal outpost disrupted traffic as they tried to block Palestinian motorists. A Palestinian driver trying to flee the roadblock struck one of the settlers. The injured settler went to a hospital in light-to-moderate condition. “The forces launched a pursuit after the suspect and are establishing roadblocks in the area,” the military said.
The preliminary finding links the incident to a roadblock and an attempted escape, rather than identifying it as a terror attack. Security forces pursued the driver and began setting up roadblocks, the IDF said.
West Bank Violence and Casualties
Palestinian media outlets separately reported that extremist settlers set fire to a Palestinian car parked near a house in as-Samu, in the South Hebron Hills. No injuries were reported.
The PA health ministry says Israeli forces or settlers have killed more than 1,100 Palestinians in the West Bank since the war began. The IDF says most were gunmen killed in exchanges of fire, rioters who clashed with troops, or terrorists carrying out attacks. In the same period, attacks in Israel and the West Bank killed 67 civilians and Israeli security personnel, while clashes during raids in Palestinian cities in the West Bank killed eight other members of the security forces.
Attacks by settler extremists on Palestinians and their property have also increased during this period. The IDF recorded 867 incidents of nationalistic crime and settler violence in 2025, compared with 682 in 2024. Critics accuse the government of condoning and encouraging the violence, which has displaced dozens of Palestinian families. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other ministers call it a marginal concern, saying nearly all incidents are the work of a few hundred wayward youths.
