Maputo’s October cultural guide starts on 21 October, with most events set for the Centro Cultural Franco-Moçambicano (CCFM) in central Maputo. The programme features an art exhibition, two animation-film screenings and a live concert. Dates and times come from the CCFM programme, retrieved on 20 October 2026.
The venue stands at Av. Samora Machel 468, on Avenida Samora Machel. Visitors can pair an evening event with dinner nearby. The guide also recommends checking with the CCFM before attending: programmes can change at short notice, and some details, including prices, weren’t listed.
Exhibition and film screenings
“Faces da Modernidade: Obras do Acervo do Millennium bim” opens Thursday 22 October in the CCFM exhibition hall. Curator Jorge Dias drew on the Millennium bim art collection for the exhibition, which runs through Saturday 12 December. The CCFM programme doesn’t give an opening time, admission price or opening hours, so visitors should check directly with the venue.
Mês do Cinema de Animação, or Animation Film Month, features a children’s screening of “Le Secret des Mésanges” on Saturday 24 October. Directed by Antoine Lanciaux, the film is scheduled for 10:30 to 12:30 in the auditorium, as part of the Saturday programme for children. The programme lists no screening price or age range.
The Cineclube screens “Planètes,” directed by Momoko Seto, on Tuesday 27 October, from 18:00 to 20:00. It’s also part of Animation Film Month, and the CCFM auditorium will host the screening. The programme doesn’t give a ticket price.

Planning and programme updates
The guide is for Maputo residents and people staying for a few weeks. It recommends planning for warm daytime weather and carrying water, but forecasts weren’t checked. At night, visitors should use a trusted taxi or ride-hailing app. For the concert, which starts at 20:00, arrange transport in advance.
CCFM contact details appear at ccfmoz.com, and the venue updates its events page through the month. The guide says no other events for these dates had been confirmed; it will add only events that can be verified. Prices for the exhibition and animation screenings weren’t listed.
